Restore the Bitkipi Wallet backup in the Pocket App

This article serves as a guide to creating a backup of your Bitkipi wallet and restoring it in the new Pocket App.

1. Open the Bitkipi app#

Open the Bitkipi app on your smartphone.

2. Open wallet#

Click on your wallet that you want to transfer to the Pocket App.

3. Bitkipi Wallet#

On the screen that appears, you will now see your wallet and all your transactions. Click on the three dots at the top right to open the menu.

4. Wallet menu#

Select "Wallet backup" from the menu that pops up at the bottom of the screen.

5. Wallet backup#

On the next step you will see your backup, or seed phrase. It consists of 12 words.

Write down the 12 words on a piece of paper and then press "Done" in the top right corner.

You can now close the Bitkipi app.

6. Open the Pocket app#

Now download the Pocket App from the Play Store and open it.

7. New wallet#

In the app, click on the grey tile labelled "Hello 👋 Add a Ethereum wallet to get started".

8. Add wallet#

On the next screen, you will be presented with options to either restore an existing wallet or create a new wallet. Now click on the "Restore existing wallet" button.

9. Restore wallet#

Click on "Restore existing wallet" again.

10. Name your wallet#

Now enter a name for your wallet and choose a colour for the tile.

11. Import wallet#

Now add the 12 words, the backup of your Bitkipi Wallet, in the text field that appears and then click the "Import" button.

You might have to wait a moment while your wallet and transactions are loaded.

Done#

That's it. Your wallet and all your transactions are now loaded and will soon be displayed in your Pocket App. Fantastic! Your wallet is now available and ready to be used in the Pocket App.

Keep your backup safe in case you lose your smartphone or it gets stolen. You will only be able to regain access to your ethereum if you have a valid backup.

If you have multiple wallets in your Bitkipi app, you will need to repeat these steps for each wallet separately.
